#BEHIND THE SCENES JAY AND SILENT BOB STRIKE BACK TV#
When that happens, of course, greedy producers and/or studios smell the potential for another lucrative franchise and cash cow, so they often give such upstart performers more onscreen time or their own starring vehicles, although the latter is obviously more popular and easy to do in the TV industry. One need only think of Rhys Ifans in "Notting Hill" upstaging the film's higher profile leads, or Henry Winkler (as well as Robin Williams) doing the same back on TV's "Happy Days." While the stars get all of the money and fame, having a supporting performer steal the film or at least certain scenes from them is an unsettling proposition for some. I bet it's not uncommon for some star performers to think the same thing about their human costars who, while obviously almost always necessary cogs for the story, occasionally also upstage them. Still Galleries (On the Set, Birth of a Poster and Jay and Silent Bob Comics).42 Deleted Scenes with introduction by Kevin Smith and others.Trailers for "40 Days and 40 Nights," "Clerks," "Chasing Amy," "Clerks Uncensored," "Jay and Silent Bob Soundtrack" and Dimension Cutting Edge Films.Running audio commentary by actor/director Kevin Smith, producer Scott Mosier and star Jason Mewes. As far as the audio is concerned, the score and various included rock songs on the soundtrack all sound good (with some featuring decent bass kick), while there are plenty of sound effects (an explosion with lots of bass, a gun shootout, etc.) to keep things lively, even if the surround mix isn't quite as active/impressive as I would have imagined. The image is consistently sharp - even in dimly lit/nighttime scenes - color reproduction is good, and black levels are solid. DVD REVIEW: "JAY AND SILENT BOB STRIKE BACK"ĪUDIO/VIDEO ELEMENTS: Beyond a tiny bit of occasional, but certainly not distracting pixelation, the picture here looks terrific.
